Don Torino was elected President in 2016 after serving in several roles in the Chapter since 2013, including Communications Chair, High School Recruiting Chair, and being the point person in reaching the goal of Penn State license plates in North Carolina. He is a 1988 alumnus from the University Park campus with a B.S. in Biology. He has been a practicing chiropractor for 30+ years, and also graduated summa cum laude from law school in 2009.
Nikki Takei Nikki joined the board in 2018 as Social Chair. She graduated from University Park in 1992 with a BA in Philosophy and went on to earn a BFA in Interior Design from Savannah College of Art and Design. She is currently self employed as a kitchen designer.
Sam Evangelisto joined the Board in 2019. My name is Sam Evangelisto, I have been married to my wife Judy for 48yrs. We have three children Dan, Jennifer, and Joe, seven grandchildren,and one great grandchild. I retired from the North Carolina Dept. of Revenue in March of 2016. We reside in Cary however my wife and I are from, a small town outside of Pittsburgh, PA, called Beaver, PA where we were high school sweethearts. Upon graduation in 1968 from Beaver High I attended the Williamsport Area Community College, Williamsport, PA. where I majored in Offset Printing. While at college I had the privilege of interviewing Joe Paterno for our college newspaper. A Veteran of the United States Air Force and a died hard Penn State Fan since 1956. Interests include being a World War II historian, working in any way with World War II Veterans, special field of study is the Holocaust. Recently was granted membership into the Penn State Alumni Association.
Bill Doyle Bill is a partner in the Raleigh office of McGuireWoods LLP. Bill grew up in York, PA, graduated from York Catholic High School in 1984 (where he played football and was a teammate of Matt Johnson, the PSU defensive lineman who was on the 1987 national championship team), and served an enlistment in the USMC from 1984-1988. While in the Marine Corps, he took night classes and came to Penn State as an academic junior in 1988. He graduated from Penn State in 1990 with a BS in economics, focusing on econometrics. Bill then graduated from Georgetown Law in 1993 and went on to pursue a masters degree in Philosophy at NYU. After NYU, Bill went into private practice in 1995, and, except for government service, has been representing employers in labor and employment matters at several law firms, including Morgan Lewis for 13 years. From 2001-2005, Bill served as the Deputy Director of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, where he was the chief operating officer of a $100 million enforcement agency within the US Department of Labor. Bill lives in Raleigh with his wife, Carole, and two children, Jillian and Colin, both of whom attend Cardinal Gibbons. They regularly attend the weekly tailgates at Rookies and contribute to the food drives.
Dan Willett joined the board in September of 2019. He earned his B.S in Q.B.A from the Smeal College of Business in 1985. Dan also earned an MBA from Saint Joseph's University in 1991 and an MFA from East Carolina University in 2012. Dan is employed as a Managed Care Senior Analyst at UNC Health Care Systems.
Karen Rhodes joined the board in June of 2018. Karen earned her B.S. in Q.B.A. from the Smeal College of Business in 1985 and was part of the now Schreyers Honors College (known as the University Scholars at that time). She is also a 1992 graduate of the Harvard Business School with an MBA. She is currently employed at Advance Auto Parts as a Product Solutions Director.

Steve Ottone took over as the Game Day Czar in 2014. In this capacity, Steve heads the football game party committee and emcees during the games.

Don Torino has coordinated participation in local high school college fairs and contacted high school students offered admission to Penn State through the PSU Admissions Office's Alumni Admissions Volunteer Program for more than 25 years. Emily Passauer Emily is our most recent Board member, joining us in 2021. A 2013 University Park alumna, Emily is passionate about fitness and all things Penn State, serving as a THON volunteer all four years there.
