Don Torino was elected President in 2016 after serving in several roles in the Chapter since 2013, including Communications Chair, High School Recruiting Chair, and being the point person in reaching the goal of Penn State license plates in North Carolina. He is a 1988 alumnus from the University Park campus with a B.S. in Biology. He has been a practicing chiropractor for 25+ years, and also graduated summa cum laude from law school in 2009.
Colleen Brinson joined the board in 2017. She is a 2009 graduate of Penn State Erie with a B.S. in Molecular Biology and a 2014 graduate of The Citadel with a MA in Biology.
Ella Reese joined the Board in 2018. Ella completed her Bachelor of Science from The Pennsylvania State University in 2005 and her Master’s of Education from The Pennsylvania State World Campus in 2009. Ella has worked in higher education, non-profit education organizations, as a contractor for the US Navy, and most recently in the transportation solutions industry.
Rick Orlemanski joined the Board in 2018. He is a 1973 graduate of Penn State with a B.S. in Finance and a 1991 graduate of Case Western Reserve University with a Masters in Accounting. He is currently retired, but previously was employed as the Vice President of Worldwide Taxes for Global Knowledge Training, LLC for 2 years and Director of Worldwide Taxes for Lord Corporation for 28 years. Rick is also a C.P.A.
Jim Pastorius joined the Board in 2018. Jim is a 1987 graduate from Penn State - Behrend with a BS in Management Information Systems. He has over thirty years in the IT industriy. For the past thirteen years he has been with ADP, LLC as a Lead Technical Application Analysis on the Health Compliance team. He has been in the Triangle since 1989.
Karen Rhodes joined the board in June of 2018. Karen earned her B.S. in Q.B.A. from the Smeal College of Business in 1985 and was part of the now Schreyers Honors College (known as the University Scholars at that time). She is also a 1992 graduate of the Harvard Business School with an MBA. She is currently employed at Advance Auto Parts as a Product Solutions Director.
Vacant: Responsible for heading the scholarship program for all local Penn State students in the Triangle. Each year a deserving inspiring young mind is selected to receive a scholarship award from our Chapter. Will help to pull together the annual student send off each year for all local Penn State students.
Steve Ottone took over as the Game Day Czar in 2014. In this capacity, Steve heads the football game party committee and emcees during the games.
Alumni Admissions Volunteer and High School Recruiting Chair
Don Torino has coordinated participation in local high school college fairs and contacted high school students offered admission to Penn State through the PSU Admissions Office's Alumni Admissions Volunteer Program for more than 25 years. Nikki Takei Nikki joined the board in 2018 as Social Chair. She graduated from Main Campus in 1992 with a BA in Philosophy and went on to earn a BFA in Interior Design from Savannah College or Art and Design. She is currently self employed as a kitchen designer. As social chair she will coordinate Happy Valley Hour's and other social events for the local Penn State chapter.
Mark Robinson joined the Board in 2018. He attended the University Park campus after joining the USAF out of high school. He graduated in 1985 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. After a career in the computer industry he is now retired and lives in Cary with his wife, Susanna, and the cat they "inherited" from one of their four adult children. He enjoys spending time doing volunteer work and helping friends and family whenever possible.
